  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)

  • 2 tablespoons of flour (to thicken the gravy)

  • Optional: Fresh herbs like thyme or parsley for garnish

  • Instructions

  • Take your steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  • Place the steak in the skillet, sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a plate, covered loosely with foil.
  • In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until soft and golden brown. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic, stir well, and let it cook for a minute. Slowly pour in the beef broth and whisk until combined. Add in Worcestershire sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  • Stir in the butter until melted. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Return the rested steak to the pan, slice against the grain, and drizzle with gravy. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
