Description

For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, for frying

For the Sticky Honey Sauce:

  • ¼ cup honey 🍯
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

For Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onions, chopped

Instructions

1️⃣ Coat & Fry the Chicken

  • Season chicken pieces with salt & pepper.
  • Toss in cornstarch until fully coated.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry chicken until golden & crispy (about 5-6 minutes). Remove & set aside.

2️⃣ Make the Sticky Honey Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  • Pour sauce into the same pan and bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in cornstarch slurry (cornstarch + water) and cook until thickened.

3️⃣ Coat the Chicken

  • Add the crispy chicken back into the pan.
  • Toss well until each piece is coated in the sticky, glossy sauce.

4️⃣ Serve & Enjoy!

  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds & green onions.
  • Serve over steamed rice or with stir-fried veggies.

Notes
