- 2 ½ cups (300g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ cup (120ml) milk
- 1 cup (150g) chopped dark chocolate or mini chocolate chips
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat & Prepare:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9-inch (23cm) cake pan or loaf tin.
2️⃣ Mix the Wet Ingredients:
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
3️⃣ Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
4️⃣ Add the Chocolate:
- Gently fold in the chocolate pieces.
5️⃣ Bake to Perfection:
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6️⃣ Cool & Serve:
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
- Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate before serving.
