Description

  • 2 ½ cups (300g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 cup (150g) chopped dark chocolate or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat & Prepare:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch (23cm) cake pan or loaf tin.

2️⃣ Mix the Wet Ingredients:

  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.

3️⃣ Combine Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.

4️⃣ Add the Chocolate:

  • Gently fold in the chocolate pieces.

5️⃣ Bake to Perfection:

  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6️⃣ Cool & Serve:

  • Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
  • Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate before serving.
