Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

  • Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.

  • Alternate adding dry mix and buttermilk to butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Fold in chopped strawberries.

  • Bake: Pour batter into pan and bake 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  • Cool: Let cake cool completely before frosting or serving.
