These Strawberry Cake Truffles are bite-sized delights that combine moist strawberry cake, creamy frosting, and a decadent chocolate coating. Perfect for parties, holidays, or a sweet snack, these truffles are fun to make and even better to eat!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake:

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the package: eggs, oil, water)

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

For the Coating:

  • 12 oz white chocolate or candy melts
  • Optional toppings: sprinkles, freeze-dried strawberry powder, or crushed nuts

Instructions

  • Bake the Cake:
    • Prepare the strawberry cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake and let it cool completely.
  • Crumble the Cake:
    • Once cooled, crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
  • Make the Truffle Mixture:
    • Add the cream cheese frosting to the crumbled cake. Mix until the texture resembles a dough.
  • Form the Truffles:
    • Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Melt the Chocolate:
    • Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
  • Dip the Truffles:
    • Using a fork or toothpick, dip each chilled cake ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Place them back on the parchment paper.
    • Add sprinkles or other toppings before the chocolate sets.
  • Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate the truffles for 1 hour to allow the coating to harden. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a twist, substitute white chocolate with milk or dark chocolate.
  • To make it extra special, drizzle melted chocolate over the truffles for decoration.
