thawed
8 oz (225 g) cream cheese
softened
1/3 cup (65 g) granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Fresh strawberries
sliced
or strawberry preserves
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into rectangles.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry rectangle.
- Top the cream cheese with sliced strawberries or a dollop of strawberry preserves.
- Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and seal.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water and brush it over the pastries for a nice golden color.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
