For the Danish:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries (sliced thinly)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • 1 tbsp water

Optional Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 12 tsp milk

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

  3. Cut the Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 4 rectangles. Score a smaller rectangle inside each, being careful not to cut all the way through.

  4. Add Filling: Spread 1–2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each scored area. Top with strawberry slices.

  5. Brush with Egg Wash: Beat the egg with water and brush the edges of the pastries for a golden finish.

  6. Bake: Place on the baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

  7. Glaze (Optional): Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle over cooled pastries.
