For the Dough:

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • 3/4 cup warm pineapple juice (110°F)

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup melted butter

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For Brushing (optional):

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • 1 tbsp honey


Instructions

  • Activate yeast: In a bowl, mix warm pineapple juice and sugar. Sprinkle in yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  • Make dough: Add flour, egg, melted butter, and salt. Knead until smooth (5–7 min). Let rise 1 hour or until doubled.

  • Make filling: Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

  • Assemble rolls: Punch down dough, divide into 12 balls. Flatten each, add a spoonful of filling, seal and shape into a ball.

  • Second rise: Place in greased baking dish. Cover and rise 30 minutes.

  • Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.

  • Glaze (optional): Brush with melted butter and honey while warm.

Notes

  • Substitute pineapple juice with orange juice if needed.

  • Let rolls cool slightly before serving for best texture.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
