Description
These Sweet & Tangy Honey Mustard Chicken Sliders are a delicious combination of tender marinated chicken, creamy cheddar, and fresh greens, all nestled in soft buns.
Ingredients
1 lb (450g) boneless
skinless chicken thighs
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
8 slider buns preferably Hawaiian or soft brioche
4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup arugula or baby spinach
1/2 cup pickles sliced
1/4 red onion thinly sliced
Optional extra honey and mustard for drizzling
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the marinated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- To assemble the sliders, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each bun, followed by a slice of chicken, some arugula or spinach, pickles, and red onion.
- Drizzle with extra honey and mustard if desired. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. You can also customize the toppings based on your preference.
