Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), melted
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1-2 tablespoons of red/pink sprinkles
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides.
In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, incorporating each fully. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt, and gradually mix it into the wet mixture.
Spread the brownie batter evenly in your prepared pan. Take spoonfuls of the sugar cookie dough and dollop it over the brownie layer. Use a knife to gently swirl the two batters together.
Sprinkle some red or pink sprinkles on top if desired.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are set and the center is still slightly gooey. Let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before removing.
Once cooled, slice into squares and serve.
