Description

This Warm Chocolate Fudge Skillet Cake delivers a rich, gooey center with crispy edges—baked right in a cast-iron skillet. Serve it warm with ice cream or whipped cream for the ultimate chocolate lover’s dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Optional: ice cream or whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch cast-iron skillet.

2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat.

3. Whisk in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.

4. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.

5. Fold in chocolate chips.

6. Pour batter into the prepared skillet and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the edges are set and the center remains fudgy.

8. Cool slightly and serve warm straight from the skillet with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Do not overbake—center should stay gooey.

Add chopped nuts or peanut butter chips for extra flavor.

Double the recipe for a larger 10-inch skillet.
