  • Author: amelia
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: About 1 cup (enough for 1 large pizza) 1x

Description

Velvety smooth and loaded with garlic flavor, this white pizza sauce is the perfect base for veggie or chicken pizzas, flatbreads, or cheesy breadsticks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Pinch of Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (1–2 minutes).

  2. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.

  3. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened (about 5 minutes).

  4. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if using.

  5. Let cool slightly before spreading on your pizza dough.

Notes

  • Use heavy cream instead of milk for an ultra-rich sauce.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Also delicious as a pasta sauce or dip for breadsticks!
