Ingredients
1 lb collard greens, washed and chopped
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving drippings in skillet.
2. Add onion and garlic to skillet; sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
3. Add chopped collard greens and chicken broth; stir well.
4. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until greens are tender.
5. Stir in cooked bacon and apple cider vinegar. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Cook uncovered 2-3 more minutes to let flavors meld.
Notes
Use smoked turkey for a lighter alternative to bacon.
